We saw a LOT of those last month...showers and thunderstorms. In fact, it's May now and we're still seeing raindrops ... almost daily it seems!
Rain doesn't really stop us, though. No time for that. With the school year wrapping up in another six weeks and Spring blooming all around us, we are fully into busy mode around here! We've had art shows, band concerts, birthday parties, home projects and tons more around the bend!
My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks (and it's a big one - 4-0!) so Scott let me order a new toy for my camera - and 85mm, f 1.4 lens. It came a couple weeks early, so I had to pull that baby out. And, H-E-L-L-O ... so glad this one walked into my life! I love taking photos in natural light and I have loved my 50 mm lens, so I knew I would like this new one and boy was I right.
You can tell the little one is always with me and always eager to pose, can't you?
Ben's been spending lots of time with a new BFF who lives just across the street from us ...
This is Miss Lauren. She is a year younger than Ben. They are rarely separated when they aren't in school these days. They take turns eating dinner between the two houses depending on who is having the better meal for dinner! Cute, eh? They totally "get" each other and never seem to bicker. It's a good relationship, but so different for us since Ben used to be our shy, introverted, in-the-house guy - now we barely see him inside!
So an exciting, busy week ahead!
This guy:
Minus the Wimpy Kid Cut-Out, is heading to middle school next year! I can't believe it - where did the time go? We head to the orthodontist on Tuesday, Spring Drum Concert on Wednesday, Middle School Orientation on Thursday ... and he has Field Day at School, a Field Trip to Washington DC in a couple of weeks, the Distinguished Patriot Program breakfast --- it's all going by too fast and he's growing up even faster. It was to be expected, I know, but the whirlwind ride of the past few weeks and the weeks coming up make it seem like a faster and crazier carnival ride than ever! :) It's amazing to see what a great kid he's become and we're doing our best to soak up every minute!
Well, it's past bedtime for the little girl still creating in the scrap room and she won't head up until I do.
Make it a good week. Get some exercise. Create a little. Laugh bunches. Love a lot. Make memories (and capture them on film) to prove you lived!
