A few things occur in my life on a daily basis.
Of course, there's the obvious: packing lunches, laundry, taking photos, cooking, homework supervision, picking up toys, tripping over toys, working, wiping runny noses, scrapbooking (most days) ...
And then there's something unique that most don't get to experience. In fact, it's one of my favorites! WARNING: Before viewing this photo, I must warn you that there is a mess going on in the background. Please ignore it. This is truly my life and part of it includes picking up this mess constantly.
But this is what I get to see on a regular basis:
That's my Ben. He's playing Dragonball Z on the Wii. Great fun. Plays something on the Wii daily. The funny thing is that he also drops his clothes at the door pretty much every day when he gets off the bus. I can't figure out how he doesn't freeze in our basement, but he just won't keep his clothes on. Andrew's caught on to some of the fever. He says that he can't wear many clothes when he plays the Wii because "they're just too restrictive". Yeah, can't you see that one at the senior center as they're competing for the Wii Bowling Trophy. "Hey Ethel, hold my clothes while I get this strike - they're too restrictive!" I don't know, maybe it would be good for the seniors to have a little fun like my boys do. I know the seniors enjoy the Wii, but they may bowl a little faster if they take off a few layers of clothing! <grin; grin>
Another funny thing that my kids love to do is jump on the exercise trampoline. A lot of times they jump while playing Wii or Playstation 2. (Note the Nintendo DS in Andrew's hand.) I figure it's good exercise to go along with the hand-eye coordination they are fine tuning on the game systems. Andrew's head is closing to hitting the ceiling when he jumps sometimes.
And do I even need to say that the sign on the wall should read, "Munchie was here"? She's like a little cyclone. She can't just get one or two toys out, she's got to take it ALL out. And then, she doesn't even play with everything. Sometimes she's good at cleaning up, but more than often it takes a lot of prodding! Again I say it, good thing she's cute!
Lots on the scrap desk right now. I'm pretty excited about a few computer things, too. I have signed up for Stacy Julian's Library of Memories class and Jessica Sprague's Up and Running (with Photoshop) class. Both are on-line classes where you can work at your own pace. Actually, I have always related to Stacy's approach to scrapbooking - the non-chronological, every day life part of it. I am anxious to see how she does it. I'm pretty sure she has 2 more kids than I do and she manages to journal daily. Her scrapbooking style is much simpler than mine, so I'm looking for guidance in the "setting it in motion" and maintaining the motion part. I'm happy with my scrapbooking style. It works for me and is reflective of me. My main goal is to capture the moment with a great photo and then share the story through my words.
I've begun to dabble with the whole digital scrapping thing, so I'm excited about Jessica's class. I don't really consider it "scrapbooking" - that will always be paper and embellishments to me, but I like to do hybrid pages (combining the computer with my paper goodies) and I love using the computer to create cards, invitations and gifts - always have! Can't wait to expand my knowledge here.
So, on my desk (besides those autograph books) is this yummy paper - Tres Jolie from My Mind's Eye. Going to do a few Thanksgiving photos of my kiddos and niece and nephews. They had a fun day just being together.
Was lucky enough to create a page last night and catch Jon & Kate + 8 before going to bed! Love that show. Got a great idea for a Summer vacation spot from the Gossleins. I think we're heading to the Pittsburgh Zoo - it looked like so much fun!
Will share the paper creation tomorrow. Gotta run and get dinner on the table since the Daddy-Man is on his way home. Oh, yeah, gotta start that homework supervision, pack the lunches, etc. And Caroline just announced it's a Dance, Dance Revolution night. She's requesting that we use the Hannah-Banana one. (That would be the Disney Dance, Dance Revolution game. She can't quite get out Hannaha Montana. She doesn't even really know who Hannah Montana is. She does know that her best girlfriend, Abby, loves Hannah Montana, so she must too!)
